Had two days and one night at Kirkjufell. Sounding as a broken record the weather continued to be less then ideal, but you have to let that go and just try and do the best of the situation. Im glad that I took the detour out to snaellfellnes. It has a really great potential when it comes to landscape photography and I will sure be back next time, whenever that is.
Slept in my car the first night in Isafjördur. Acually the only night I did that. I was planing to sleep in the car for several days but the poor weather at night/early morning made me book hotel rooms most of the trip. I stayed in Isafjördur for 2 days, waiting patiently for the weather to turn for the better, which it of course dint’t. So I decided to continue my journey on the west fjords reaching Dynjandi in the afternoon. Of course it rained and the heavy wind made photographing the great fall pretty much impossible. Loss count of how many shots I had to delete due to spray/rain. But here are some shots from the fall and some shots taken in and in the area close to Isafjördur…
Continued after the bad weather in Jökursarlon up the east coast, still foggy and the rain kept pouring down. Slept one night just outside Myvatn hoping to get some good shots of the famous lake, but the weather was really boring so I continued to Godafoss which was an amazing experience, I really loved every second at that majestic waterfall. Didn’t get any colours there for sunset, but I din’t get much sunset light the whole trip unfortunately. After godafoss I went to see the gigantic stone troll called Hvitserkur. Had about 30minutes of no rain there before the sky opened itself with horisontal rain and storm winds. So I decided to head to Isafjördur one day ahead of schedule…
Here are some of the shots I took on my 12 day long trip to Iceland this past summer. I went there myself, packed with my gear and rented a car who took me 255 swedish miles around the Island.
The first 2 days I went to the mythical black beach of Vik in Myrdal in the very south of Iceland. The weather was as it would turn out pretty bad the whole trip, but really bad the first few days. Here are some of the pictures I took the first two days in Vik, at Skogafoss and the famous Jökulsarlon.
The 9th of February I had the honor to shoot Therése & Emiles wedding in Seglora Church on Skansen, Stockholm.
Here comes a selection of pics that I took that gray and snowy afternoon. A very beautiful couple who made their big day an easy task for me. Thanks for letting me be a part of your new beginning, wishing you all the best, cheers!
And if you want to look at the pictures a bit bigger and with music:
Thank you for a wonderful day!
